Battle of the Imports began it’s 2008 tour at Orlando Speed World in Florida April 13th. the weather started out good with a few cloud’s, But that didn’t last long, Soon the rain came, yet another year the battle receives a unfriendly welcome from the sunshine state. Some of the fastest imports in the world, And the entire car show with every import known to man ran for cover. On a higher note let’s not forget the bikini contest with a handful of Ladies dressed for the rain did there best to keep the crowd entertained. The car of the month is tanner’s EG hatch. This particular car had already been equipped with a larger B16 series engine from a 99 SI, wich was an improvement over the factory single cam. Seeking more power, Tanner decided to go a JDM B20 engine and a b16 head mated together with a golden Eagle V-tec conversion kit and ARP head studs. He also strengthend the connecting rods with ARP rod bolts to make sure the assembly will stay together. continued in user ride’s

It is with great regret that NOPI Motorsports, LLC has suspended operations for the summer and fall 2008. This will include NOPI Drag Racing Series, NOPI Drift Series and the NOPI NATIONALS Motorsports Supershow. The company is undergoing an organizational restructuring in light of severe adverse affects of a disappointing spring season. The economy and unfavorable weather resulted in underperformance of all spring events. Michael Meyers, president of NOPI Motorsports, reports that NOPI Motorsports is working with its clients and sponsors to minimize the uncertainty going forward. This is a reflection of the economic times in which we currently live. The countrywide economic and industry downturn has caused a slowdown and tightening of belts. This affects everyone and companies, at all levels, and NOPI Motorsports is no different.
We understand the position this puts everyone in and we hope you can find in your heart to work with us through this terrible time. All of you are our friends and we have felt for many years that we were all a big family.
NOPI Motorsports hates this more than anyone as the many years of hard work, tradition and an industry we helped to shape would come to this.

IT’S BACK ON SEP 20-21
Wow, you guys sure know how to blog! The rumor mill in this industry is unbelievable! Anyway, after a long hard week of negotiations, we are moving the Motorsport Nationals Supershow to the beautiful facilities at GICC by the Atlanta Airport. Don’t FREAK, your same hotel reservations will be fine. The place is off Camp Creek Parkway almost at the airport so all the 19/41 area hotels are just a couple of miles away and still the cheapest! The show will be mostly an inside deal (air conditioned and NO rain!). We will party like no other! We will have tons of cars in the car show and vendors galore, a gigantic swimsuit competition, and yes lots of live music.
